PerplexAI.net is an AI-services platform operated by Webnatics LTD. This Data Usage Policy explains how PerplexAI.net uses information provided by users and generated through our AI voice, realistic voice-over, text-to-speech and related IT services.

1. Data We May Use

Depending on the way you use PerplexAI, we may use:

• Account and profile information, such as name, username, account ID and preferences.
• Contact information and communication records.
• Subscription, plan and service-access details.
• Billing, transaction, invoice and payment-status information.
• Text, scripts, prompts, pronunciation instructions and generation settings.
• Voice recordings, voice samples and uploaded audio.
• Generated AI voice-over and text-to-speech audio.
• Custom or cloned voice information, where that feature is offered.
• Device, browser, IP address, technical and diagnostic information.
• Platform usage, security and performance information.

The data used depends on the features you choose and the settings available to your account.

2. Text, Scripts and Prompt Data

We use text, scripts, prompts, pronunciation instructions and selected settings to convert text into speech, process your instructions and generate the requested audio. Where available, we may save projects, histories and settings in your account so you can access and manage them later. We may also use this information to troubleshoot generation issues, provide support, maintain security, prevent misuse and ensure the functionality of the Services. You may be able to delete individual projects, scripts or prompts through account tools. Text and project data may remain in active systems until deleted by you or removed under our retention process, and may remain temporarily in secure backups afterwards.

Do not submit unnecessary confidential, sensitive or personal information in text or scripts unless you have the authority to do so.

3. Voice and Audio Data

Where a feature allows it, we use uploaded audio, voice recordings and voice samples to provide requested AI voice-generation, text-to-speech, audio-processing, custom-voice or voice-cloning functionality.

Ordinary uploaded audio may contain personal data. Voice data may become biometric or special-category personal data only when it is processed through specific technical means for the purpose of uniquely identifying a natural person. PerplexAI does not use voice data to identify or authenticate individuals unless this purpose is clearly stated for a particular feature.

You must have the rights, permissions, consent and other lawful authority needed to upload or use any voice recording, sample or other audio involving another person.

4. Custom and Cloned Voice Data

This section applies only where PerplexAI offers custom voices, voice cloning, voice replication or similar functionality. We may use the voice samples and settings required to create and operate the requested custom voice. Depending on the technology used, this may involve generating technical representations, such as voice embeddings, that support the feature. These representations are not used to identify or authenticate a person unless that function is expressly described.

Custom-voice information is retained while the feature remains active or as otherwise described in the account, feature or retention settings. You may request deletion of source samples, custom voices and associated technical assets through the available account controls or by contacting us. If consent is withdrawn for processing that relies on consent, we will stop or restrict that processing where required, which may make the feature unavailable.

5. AI Training and Model Improvement

PerplexAI uses submitted data to provide the requested voice-generation or text-to-speech service, maintain security, provide support and improve platform performance as described in our Privacy Policy. We will clearly state in the relevant feature notice, account setting or provider information whether user scripts, prompts, uploaded voice samples or generated audio are used to train, evaluate or improve PerplexAI’s own AI systems or third-party AI models.

Where an opt-out is available for model-improvement use, we will explain how to exercise it. The applicable feature notice will also explain whether a third-party AI provider may retain or use submitted data for its own training. Our live product settings and contracts with AI providers determine these practices; therefore, users should rely on the latest published feature and privacy information.

6. Generated Audio Data

Generated voice-over and text-to-speech audio may be stored in your account, project history or service storage where these features are available. This allows you to preview, download, manage or delete generated files.

We may process generated audio for quality assurance, safety, misuse detection, technical troubleshooting or customer support where reasonably necessary. You may be able to delete generated audio through account tools. Deleted files may remain temporarily in secure backups and may be retained in limited form where necessary for security, fraud prevention, legal claims or another lawful purpose.

7. Service Improvement and Analytics

We may use usage, diagnostic and performance information to:

• Improve website and platform performance.
• Identify technical errors and generation failures.
• Understand feature usage and general user journeys.
• Improve reliability, accessibility and user experience.
• Develop, test and maintain new features.
• Monitor service capacity and system performance.
• Prevent misuse and enforce platform rules.

Where appropriate, we use aggregated, pseudonymised or otherwise de-identified information for analytics and service improvement to reduce direct identification.

8. Security and Fraud Prevention

We may process data to detect account abuse, fraud, payment irregularities, malicious activity, unauthorised voice cloning, security threats and violations of our Terms or Acceptable Use Policy. This can include reviewing security logs, device and usage signals, reports of misuse, payment-status information and relevant AI input or output where reasonably necessary. We use these measures to protect users, accounts, infrastructure and the public from fraud and harmful use of AI voice technology.

9. Third-Party Data Processing

PerplexAI may use authorised providers to support AI models, voice-generation technology, cloud hosting, data storage, payments, authentication, analytics, customer support, communications and cybersecurity. These providers receive only the information reasonably necessary to perform their authorised functions. Where required, we use appropriate data-processing, confidentiality and security arrangements. Third-party processing may be subject to the provider’s own legal obligations and privacy terms where it acts independently.

10. Sharing and Selling of Data

PerplexAI does not sell personal data. We do not share personal information indiscriminately. We may disclose information to authorised service providers, professional advisers, regulators, law-enforcement bodies, courts or other parties where required or permitted by law. Information may also be transferred as part of a lawful business reorganisation, merger, acquisition or sale, subject to appropriate safeguards.

If we use advertising technology, any related sharing of identifiers or analytics information will be described in the Cookie Policy and managed through the relevant consent mechanism where required.

11. Data Retention

We retain data only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy and our Privacy Policy, including service delivery, security, legal obligations and dispute resolution.

• Account information is generally retained while your account is active and for an appropriate period afterwards.
• Scripts, prompts, uploaded audio, voice samples, custom voices and generated audio are retained according to account, project, feature, deletion and backup settings.
• Billing, tax, invoice and transaction records may be retained for accounting, fraud-prevention and legal purposes.
• Security logs, support communications and misuse reports may be retained for security, service and legal needs.

12. Your Control Over Data

Depending on the available account features and applicable law, you may be able to:

• Access and correct account information.
• Delete projects, scripts, prompts and generated audio.
• Remove uploaded audio and voice samples.
• Delete custom voices.
• Close your account.
• Withdraw consent where applicable.
• Exercise GDPR rights, including rights to access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability.

13. Children’s Data

PerplexAI is not intended for children under the minimum age permitted by applicable law unless a feature specifically supports children and the required parental or guardian consent has been obtained.

We do not knowingly process children’s personal data or voice data contrary to applicable law. A parent or guardian who believes a child has provided information without authority may contact us to request review and deletion, subject to reasonable verification.

14. International Data Processing

PerplexAI may use providers operating in Cyprus, the European Economic Area (EEA) and other countries for AI infrastructure, hosting, payments, analytics, support and related operations.

Where personal data is transferred outside the EEA, we use a lawful GDPR transfer mechanism where required, such as an adequacy decision, Standard Contractual Clauses and appropriate supplementary safeguards. Further information is available in our Privacy Policy.

15. GDPR and Lawful Data Use

We process personal data in line with the GDPR principles of lawfulness, fairness, transparency, purpose limitation, data minimisation, accuracy, storage limitation, integrity, confidentiality and accountability.

The legal bases for our processing, such as contract, consent, legal obligation and legitimate interests, are explained in our Privacy Policy. Where special-category or biometric data is processed, we apply an additional lawful condition where required.

16. Changes to Data Usage Practices

We may update this Policy as AI technology, service functionality, provider arrangements, data practices or legal requirements change. Material changes will be reflected in this Policy, and the Last Updated date will be revised. Where a new purpose requires consent, we will seek it before processing where required by law.
