PerplexAI

Effective Date: 14 August 2026
Last Updated: 14 August 2026

PerplexAI is an AI-services platform operated by Webnatics LTD. This Privacy Policy explains how Webnatics LTD collects, uses, stores, shares and protects personal data when you visit PerplexAI.net, create an account, use our AI voice and audio-generation services, buy subscriptions, manage your profile, or contact us.

We operate from Cyprus and process personal data in accordance with applicable Cyprus and European Union data-protection law, including the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (“GDPR”), where it applies.

1. Scope of This Policy

This Policy applies to visitors, account holders, customers, prospective customers and other individuals who interact with our website, AI voice services, payment processes, support channels, communications, cookies and related services. It does not replace the privacy notice of an independent third-party website, application, payment provider or service that you choose to use.

2. Personal Data We May Collect

Depending on how you use PerplexAI, we may collect the following information.

Account and profile information

This may include your name, email address, username, account identifier, login and authentication records, profile details, account preferences, language preferences, communication preferences and service-access details.

Passwords are protected using appropriate security controls and are not intended to be stored in readable form.

Billing, subscription and transaction information

If you purchase credits or a subscription, we may receive billing information, payment status, transaction references, credit balance and usage information, subscription-plan details, renewal status, invoice information and transaction history.

Complete payment-card or bank-account details are normally processed directly by authorised payment providers. PerplexAI does not store complete payment-card details unless this is necessary and lawful for a specific payment process.

Content and generation information

We may process the text, SSML content, pronunciation instructions, selected language, project names and settings you provide to use our services. This can include choices that affect the generated audio, such as voice, accent, speaking style, speed, pitch and other available settings.

Where available, we may also process translated text when you choose to use a translation feature before generating audio. Do not enter unnecessary confidential, sensitive or personal information into text, SSML or other requests.

Generated audio and project-history information

We may process and store generated audio files, previews, download records, project history, generation timestamps, selected settings, credit usage and associated technical metadata.

Generated audio and related settings may appear in your account history or dashboard where that functionality is available. They may remain available until you delete them, delete your account, or they are removed under our retention practices.

Automatically collected information

When you access PerplexAI, we may collect technical and usage information such as IP address, browser type and version, device type, operating system, language settings, approximate location derived from IP address, pages and features used, referral URL, session and login timestamps, interaction data, diagnostic information, error reports, security logs, cookie identifiers and general usage patterns.

We do not intentionally collect categories of information that we do not need for the relevant service.

3. How We Use Personal Data

We may use personal data to:

  • create, administer, authenticate and secure user accounts;
  • provide our AI voice, audio-generation and related platform services;
  • process your submitted content and settings to generate requested audio;
  • make generated audio, previews, downloads and project history available where supported;
  • manage credits, subscriptions, payments, invoices, renewals, cancellations, refunds and payment disputes;
  • manage profile information and account preferences;
  • send account, verification, password-reset, payment, subscription, service, security and legal communications;
  • provide customer and technical support and respond to feedback, complaints and reports;
  • detect, prevent and investigate fraud, suspicious activity, prohibited use and security incidents;
  • enforce our Terms and applicable platform rules;
  • diagnose faults, monitor performance and improve platform reliability, safety and user experience;
  • measure website and feature usage;
  • send marketing communications where permitted and where you have not opted out; and
  • comply with accounting, tax, legal, regulatory, record-keeping and legal-claim obligations.

Marketing communications are separate from essential account, payment, subscription, security and service notices. You can opt out of marketing communications at any time.

4. AI Processing and Generated Content

PerplexAI uses AI and supporting technical systems to process the content and settings you submit in order to provide the requested audio output. This may include using your chosen language, voice preferences and other generation settings to create an audio preview or downloadable file. We may retain generation details in your account history so that you can access, manage, download or delete eligible projects and generated audio.

You are responsible for ensuring that you have the necessary rights and lawful authority to submit any content through PerplexAI. AI-generated audio may be inaccurate, unsuitable or technically imperfect. You should review output before relying on, sharing or publishing it.

5. Automated Systems and Safety Checks

Our services involve automated processing. We may use automated technical, safety and fraud-prevention checks to identify prohibited requests, technical errors, suspicious activity, misuse of credits or violations of platform rules.

A request may be blocked, limited or referred for authorised review where reasonably necessary for safety, security, legal compliance or enforcement.

PerplexAI does not use automated processing to make decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about you without appropriate safeguards and information required by law.

6. AI Training and Service Improvement

PerplexAI uses content, generation settings, audio output and service-use information to provide the requested service, maintain security, troubleshoot issues and improve platform performance as described in this Policy. We will clearly disclose in the relevant feature notice, account settings or provider information whether submitted content or generated audio is used to train, evaluate or improve PerplexAI’s own AI systems or third-party AI models.

Where an opt-out for model-improvement use is available, we will explain how you can exercise it. Before publishing this Policy, PerplexAI must ensure that this section accurately reflects its live product settings and contracts with AI providers, including whether those providers may retain or use submitted content for their own model training.

7. Legal Bases for Processing

Under the GDPR, we process personal data only where we have a valid legal basis. Depending on the activity, this may include:

  • Contract: to create and manage an account, provide the requested services, generate audio, manage credits, process a subscription or complete a purchase.
  • Consent: for optional marketing, non-essential cookies or another activity where consent is required.
  • Legal obligation: to meet tax, accounting, regulatory or lawful-disclosure obligations.
  • Legitimate interests: to protect the platform, prevent fraud and abuse, administer and improve services, maintain security and establish, exercise or defend legal claims, where those interests are not overridden by your rights.

8. Cookies and Similar Technologies

We use cookies, pixels, tags, local storage and similar technologies to operate and improve PerplexAI. Cookies are small files placed on your device. They may be session cookies, which expire when you close your browser, or persistent cookies, which remain for a defined period or until deleted.

We may use:

  • Essential and authentication cookies for security, login, account sessions, payments, subscription management and cookie-consent records.
  • Preference cookies to remember choices such as language and display settings.
  • Analytics and performance cookies to understand traffic, feature use, errors and performance.
  • Marketing cookies to measure campaigns and show relevant promotions, where enabled and permitted.

Non-essential cookies are used only with consent where required. You can accept, reject or change non-essential-cookie choices through our cookie banner or preference centre, where available. You can also manage cookies through your browser settings. Restricting essential cookies may affect login, payments and core service features. See our separate Cookie Policy for further information.

9. Payments, Credits and Subscriptions

Payments, credit purchases and subscriptions may be processed by authorised third-party payment providers. We receive only the information reasonably necessary to confirm and administer a transaction, allocate credits, provide service access, manage subscription status, issue invoices, prevent fraud, process refunds and meet financial obligations.

Payment providers process personal data under their own privacy terms. We do not claim PCI DSS certification unless it is specifically confirmed for the applicable payment arrangement.

10. Sharing Personal Data

We share personal data only where reasonably necessary and subject to appropriate contractual, organisational or technical safeguards. Recipients may include:

  • cloud-hosting, storage, database and IT-infrastructure providers;
  • AI, audio-generation, translation and related technology providers;
  • payment, subscription-management, authentication, security and fraud-prevention providers;
  • analytics, performance-monitoring, email, communications and customer-support providers;
  • professional advisers, auditors, insurers and legal representatives;
  • regulators, courts, public authorities or law-enforcement bodies where required or permitted by law; and
  • another party where necessary in connection with a lawful corporate transaction, subject to appropriate protections.

We do not sell personal data. We do not share personal information indiscriminately.

11. International Data Transfers

Some providers supporting our services, hosting, payments, analytics or support may process information in countries outside Cyprus or the European Economic Area (“EEA”).

Where personal data is transferred outside the EEA, we use a GDPR-recognised transfer mechanism where required, such as a European Commission adequacy decision, Standard Contractual Clauses and appropriate supplementary measures. We do not state that all data remains in the EU unless this is technically verified.

12. Data Retention and Project History

We retain personal data only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, including to provide the service, maintain security, resolve disputes and meet legal obligations.

Retention depends on the type of data and the applicable account, subscription, project-history, deletion and backup settings.

  • Account and profile information is generally retained while the account is active and for an appropriate period afterwards.
  • Submitted content, selected generation settings and generated audio may be retained in your project or audio history until deleted by you or removed under our retention practices.
  • Credit balances, credit-use records, subscription details, invoices and transaction data may be retained for accounting, fraud-prevention, dispute-resolution and legal purposes.
  • Support communications, security logs and misuse reports may be retained for customer-service, security and legal needs.
  • Cookie and analytics data are retained according to their purpose, your consent choices and provider settings.

Where available, you may delete eligible projects and generated audio through your account. Deleted information may remain temporarily in secure backups before being removed or overwritten in line with backup-retention practices. Account deletion is addressed further in our Account & Data Deletion Policy.

13. Data Security and Personal Data Breaches

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal data. These may include secure connections, appropriate encryption safeguards, access controls, authentication controls, restricted administrative access, monitoring, logging, secure infrastructure, backups, vulnerability-management processes, incident-response procedures and confidentiality obligations.

No internet service or storage system is completely secure. If we suspect a personal-data breach, we will investigate and take appropriate steps. Where required by the GDPR, we will notify the competent supervisory authority and affected individuals without undue delay.

14. Your GDPR Rights

Subject to applicable law and relevant conditions, you may have the right to:

  • request access to your personal data;
  • ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data;
  • request deletion of eligible data;
  • request restriction of processing;
  • object to processing based on legitimate interests or direct marketing;
  • receive eligible data in a portable format;
  • withdraw consent at any time;
  • request information about certain automated decision-making; and
  • lodge a complaint with a competent data-protection supervisory authority.

15. Account and Data Deletion

You may request account deletion and, where available, delete individual projects, saved content, selected settings and generated audio through account tools or by emailing us.

We will verify requests and process them in accordance with applicable law, technical feasibility and retention obligations. Some information may need to be retained for legal, tax, accounting, fraud-prevention, security or dispute purposes. Please see our Account & Data Deletion Policy for further details.

16. Children’s Privacy

PerplexAI is not intended for children under the minimum age allowed by applicable law, unless a feature is specifically designed for children and the required parental or guardian consent has been obtained.

We do not knowingly collect children’s personal data contrary to applicable law. Parents or guardians who believe a child has supplied data without authority should contact us so that we can review and, where appropriate, delete it after verification.

17. User Content Responsibilities

You are responsible for ensuring that you have the rights, permissions, consent and other lawful authority required to submit content through PerplexAI.

You must not use PerplexAI to create unlawful, fraudulent, deceptive, harmful, harassing or rights-infringing content. Do not enter confidential information or sensitive personal data unless you are authorised to do so and understand how the relevant feature processes it.

18. Marketing Communications

Where permitted, we may send product news, offers, educational information and service updates. You can unsubscribe from marketing communications by using the unsubscribe link in an email or contacting us.

Opting out does not stop essential account, payment, subscription, security, support or legal communications.

19. Links and Third-Party Services

PerplexAI may contain links to or integrations with third-party services. Those providers are responsible for their own privacy practices. Review their privacy notices before sharing personal data with them.

We are not responsible for third-party services outside our control.

20. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Policy as our services, AI technologies, data practices, security arrangements or legal obligations change.

Where material changes are made, we will revise the Last Updated date and may provide additional notice where required by law.
